Living with Diabetes: Preventing Long Term Complications, Goal Setting and Problem Solving

Living with Diabetes is a comprehensive program on diabetes self management comprised of four, 2-hour classes. People who are newly diagnosed with diabetes are encouraged to attend all four classes. Those with a longer history of diabetes can utilize the program to refresh or fine-tune their diabetes self management skills in the areas of nutrition, physical activity, medication or goal setting and can sign up for appropriate classes.

The final class in the series looks at all of the long-term complications of diabetes and how you can do your best to prevent or delay them. Time is spent on the importance of good health habits and goal setting for making behavioral changes. The final class experience will be to use the information you’ve learned in class to problem solve situations that you may experience.

A referral from your clinician is required for you to participate in this class. If you are interested in attending, please let your clinician know and you will be referred.
