Living With Diabetes: Healthy Eating for People with Diabetes
Living with Diabetes is a comprehensive program on diabetes self management comprised of four, 2-hour classes. People who are newly diagnosed with diabetes are encouraged to attend all four classes. Those with a longer history of diabetes can utilize the program to refresh or fine-tune their diabetes self management skills in the areas of nutrition, physical activity, medication or goal setting and can sign up for appropriate classes.
In this class you will find out the importance of nutrition in your diabetes management. Learn how the timing of meals, portion size and food choices can effect your our blood glucose and discover several methods for diabetic meal planning. At the conclusion of this class you will generate a personal goal to change your behavior relating to your eating habits.
A referral from your clinician is required for you to participate in this class. If you are interested in attending, please let your clinician know and you will be referred.
