Health & Wellness Classes
Hypnobirthing Childbirth Education
This is a class for expectant parents which focuses on late pregnancy, labor, delivery and the postpartum period.
It differs from traditional childbirth preparation classes because of the addition of self-hypnosis techniques. When having your baby with Hypnobirthing, what you will experience is similar to the daydreaming or focusing that occurs when you are engrossed in a book or staring at a fire. You will be conversant and aware of your body's contractions. And your training will help you to feel calm, relaxed and in control.
Your instructor will inform you how to arrange for a tour of the labor and delivery and postpartum area of the hospital in which you will deliver.
Included in the fee are the Hypnobirthing handbook and CD.
This course meets for five weeks for two and one-half hours each week.
Special instructions:
Please wear comfortable clothing (preferably slacks) and bring two large pillows, a watch with a second hand and paper and pen if you wish to take notes.
